La Chapelle d'Abondance

 

Each 60minute class will begin with a warm up stretch and close with a guided relaxation.

Each week we will explore a different group of asana.

Including modifications and alignment within them.

Seated Poses

A relaxed start to our course.

Introducing easy seated poses that release tension neck, shoulder, lower back and hips. Bringing awareness to posture, spinal alignment, breathing and matching breath to movement.

Sun Salutations

Grasping the foundations of this warming sequence of common poses you will find in almost every yoga class. Getting to grips with foundational poses, moving with the breath, working the whole body.

The Warriors

This class will introduce you to the many Warriors within yoga. These empowering standing poses build leg and core strength, balance and alignment.

Twists

A class dedicated to the spine. Nourishing and cleansing, we can add twists throughout our practice and this class will ensure you rotate safely, find length and help shape the waist, improve digestion and encourage blood flow throughout the spinal column.

Heart Openers

And Forward Folds! We can't do one without the other. 

Counter poses within our practice provide balance and connect us to the engineering of the body. 

Heart openers for posture, spine and shoulder health. Folds for flexibility.

Pure Yin

A whole class to introduce body and mind to Surrender, both on and off your yoga mat.

In Yin Yoga we move slowly, hold fewer poses for longer and get deeper into joints, muscles and connective tissue.

Balance

Some days it comes easy, other days it is a struggle. In this class I give you tips on keeping your balance when standing on one leg. Learn to embrace the wobbles and gain core and ankle strength. Essential for the upcoming winter season!

Slow Flow #1

A calming smooth and fluid moving meditation. Flowing together a sequence of the poses we have explored in previous weeks, moving intentionally to the breath and slowing down the constant chatter and noise in the mind.

Yang & Yin

We will begin with a dynamic warming flow to build strength and balance followed by calming yin to relax and release.
